Four PAGNY physicians were promoted in the Harlem Hospital Surgery Department. Dr. Leaque Ahmed, Chairperson of the Surgery Department, said, “I am pleased to announce the promotions of Dr. Donaldson, Dr. Morrison, Dr. Davis-Joseph and PA Danso Agyeman. They uphold Harlem Hospital’s fine tradition of service and dedication to our community and our city. Their excellence and experience are helping to make our Surgery Department among the most respected in New York City.”

Dr. Brian A. Donaldson in Surgery was promoted to Associate Director. He is also Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Prior to his appointment, he was an Attending Physician in General and Vascular Surgery. For the past five years, Dr. Donaldson served as the Treasurer of the Medical Board and the Performance Improvement Chairperson. Dr. Donaldson graduated from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica where he earned the First Prize in Pharmacology and the Second Prize in Anatomy.

Dr. Norman G. Morrison was promoted to Chief of Plastic Surgery. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Morrison was an Attending Physician in the Division of Plastic Surgery. He also has Hospital Staff Appointments at the Center for Specialty Care in New York City and the Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville, New York. Dr. Morrision is a graduate of the University of the West Indies.

Dr. Brian Davis-Joseph was promoted to Chief of Urology. He is also the Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Davis-Joseph was an attending physician in the Department of Urology. Dr. Davis-Joseph has held positions at Montefiore Medical Center, where he was the Assistant Professor of Urology, and at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he also completed his postdoctoral training. He was also a partner in the Paramount Urology Group in the Fort Washington section of Manhattan.

Danso Agyeman, PA, was promoted to Chief of Physician Assistants. Prior to his appointment, he was a Physician Assistant in the Urology Division of the Department of Surgery. His patient care responsibilities include assisting in the Operating Room, Urology Division, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also serves in the Outpatient Clinic for the Division of Urology and provides consultation to the Inpatient Units and the Emergency Department. A graduate of the City University of New York, Mr. Agyeman received his Bachelor of Science Degree in the Physician Assistant Program.
