Max Wang

Max Wang has been appointed a Nuclear Medical Technologist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island. Mr. Wang comes to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island from Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Fredericksburg, Texas, where he was the Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist. He previously was a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Sonterra Cardiovascular Institute in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Wang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Houston and an Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from Houston Community College.

Sophia Amritt

Sophia Amritt has been named Healthcare Services Coordinator at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Ms. Amritt was previously a Pediatric Health Educator-Sickle Cell Transition Navigator at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where she coordinated care and worked with multidisciplinary teams to provide continuity of care for patients as they transitioned from pediatric care to adult care. Previously, she was a consultant and an intern in the Brooklyn District Public Health Office of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene after spending her early career at UNITAS Therapeutic Community Inc., a non-profit mental health agency serving youth and their families. Ms. Amritt received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at St. Francis College, Brooklyn, and a Master of Public Health degree at Long Island University.

Dr. Daniel Barraez

Dr. Daniel Barraez, FACOG, FACS, and Surgeon of Minimally Invasive Gynecology surgery, has been appointed an Attending OB/GYN at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx and Associate Director for Minimally Invasive Surgery for NCB’s OB/GYN Department. Dr. Barraez comes to North Central Bronx from Berkshire Faculty Services in Pittsfield, Mass., where he was an Attending Physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also served in the OB/GYN Departments at Columbia University and Albany Medical College. Dr. Barraez is a graduate of the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Luis Razetti School of Medicine, in Caracas, Venezuela, and Albany Medical College.

Dr. Denise McCormack

Dr. Denise McCormack, MPH, has been named an Attending Emergency Medicine Physician at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Dr. McCormack comes to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi from Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School, where she was an Emergency Medicine Physician. She completed previous training in General Surgery at New York Medical College at Sound Shore Medical Center and Danbury Hospital. Dr. McCormack received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Wesleyan University, her Medical Degree from SUNY at Buffalo, and a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University.
