PAGNY is pleased to announce that Dr. Deepak Naran, a board-certified Attending Radiologist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, has been named a member of the PAGNY Board of Directors.

Dr. Naran has worked at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island since 2005. Previously, he served his radiology residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Naran is a graduate of the University of Bombay and received his medical degree at Ranchi Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi University, in Ranchi, India.

A native of Zimbabwe, Africa, he also has degrees in laboratory technology and journalism. He worked in private practice in Ranchi, India, and served as the Principal Medical Officer at several hospitals in South Africa before coming to the United States.

PAGNY is also pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Kindschuh has been named Coney Island’s new Director of the Emergency Department.

Dr. Kindschuh, the new Director of the Emergency Department, is an experienced emergency department physician and administrator. He comes to Coney Island from New York-Presbyterian/Queens, where he was Chairman of the Emergency Medicine. He also serves as

Medical Director of JetBlue Airways. Dr. Kindschuh worked in emergency medicine as well at Mt. Sinai Queens Hospital, New York Hospital Queens and St. John’s Queens Hospital.

Dr. Kindschuh is a graduate of Stanford University and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He served his internship at Baylor College of Medicine and his residency at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital.
