The Jacobi Auxiliary last month honored Dr. Mark Mehler, Chairman and Neurologist-in-Chief at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. His specialties are neurology and psychiatry and he also serves important neurology roles at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx and Montefiore Medical Center.
In honoring Dr. Mehler, the Auxiliary said he was a “dedicated physician and pioneering researcher” who has “served in numerous national and international academic leadership capacities. As a committed educator, he has trained countless students, residents and fellows in neuroscience and allied specialties.”
Dr. Mehler received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his residency at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital and a clinical fellowship in medicine at Harvard Medical School. He also completed a residency in neurology at Einstein and Montefiore Medical Center and served as chief resident.
The Jacobi Auxiliary is an organization of volunteers who support and enhance care at the hospital. It raises funds for aspects of patient care that are not supported through regular hospital resources.
