Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Neonatologist to the group at  NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Located in the Bronx, accommodates more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The hospital also serves patients of many other needs. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College

Responsibilities

 The Division of Pediatric Critical Care within the Lewis M. Fraad Department of Pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center is seeking a 4th board certified/eligible pediatric intensivist to join our Division. which also includes six full-time Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates to provide care in our eight-bed PICU.

 

We currently admit and manage approximately 500 patients per year who represent the entire spectrum of pediatric illnesses. We have a busy Pediatric Emergency Department (44,817 visits) with a Pediatric Emergency Fellowship program along with an ACGME-certified residency with 45 residents. We are a certified Level 1 Trauma Center and were recently awarded certification as the first Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center in the Bronx.

 

We participate in simulation at our state-of-the-art facility (Institute for Medical Simulation and Advanced Learning (IMSAL)/Jacobi Medical Center) located on our campus. The Simulation Center offers Fellowship opportunities. We have a level III NICU and a twenty-bed in-patient service managed by residents and BC Pediatric Hospitalists. We do not provide cardiac surgery, transplant nor ECMO services.

 

We have a multidisciplinary team comprised of critical care nurses, social workers, nutritionists, pharmacists, as well as child life, physical and occupational therapists. We have a full complement of medical and surgical subspecialists. The ideal candidate must have a current NYS medical license, be Board certified/ Eligible and a team player as well as excellent educator. All faculty members are encouraged and supported to develop areas of interest and proficiency.  The successful applicant will be eligible for an academic appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine commensurate with academic accomplishment.
