Overview
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York City Health + Hospitals/Kings County is seeking to expand current Maternal Fetal Medicine services with the addition of a full-time Maternal Fetal Medicine Director. The hospital is academically affiliated with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and trains their medical students and OBGYN residents.
Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct MFM care to patients
- Inpatient and Outpatient setting
- Coordinates and supervises MFM staff as directed by the Vice-Chair
- Provides consultant coverage
- Reading and observation of Ultrasound reports
- Consultation of High-Risk Obstetrical patients
- Assists with management of complicated intra-partum and post-partum patients
- Provides supervision and teaching to Fellows, Residents, and Medical Students
- Performance Improvement activities for OB/GYN MFM
- Assists in the formulation of OB/GYN MFM protocols
Qualifications
- Board Certified in General Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine
- Possess or eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in New York State
- Minimum 3 years' experience
- Experience in OBGYN MFM Ultrasound units
