Overview

Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The hospital is academically affiliated with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and trains their medical students and OBGYN residents. 

Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the BHS Chief of Service to provide oversight of all Child services.
  • Responsible for overall direction of the various clinical, administrative and educational activities in the division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Integration of Child BH into Pediatrics, DEC, School programs
  • Supervise Medical directors in collaboration with Chief of Service.
  • Member of the core Behavioral Health Quality Management Team and Risk management team
  • Participate in division department, hospital-wide corporate and community committees and activities.
  • With Chief of Service, provide leadership to educational and clinical training programs.
  • Other duties assigned by Chief of Service

Qualifications

 

Qualifications include:

    • Completed training in General Psychiatry.
    • Completed Child Psychiatry Fellowship.
    • Board Certification in General and Child Psychiatry
    • MD or D.O Degree
    • License to practice medicine in New York State
    • Active DEA Registration
    • Graduate of an accredited Medical School
