As each year winds down, City & State turns its focus to honoring a select group of New Yorkers who exemplify what it means to be a socially responsible citizen.

We are excited to announce that Tuhina De O’Connor - Executive Director of the Physician Affiliate Group of New York Health and Research Foundation; and Rosa M. Gil, D.S.W. Founder, President and CEO of Comunilife, Inc. are two of the The 2021 Responsible 100.

Tuhina De O’Connor, M.S., M.P.H., has held leadership positions at several not-for-profit organizations including Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, the Robin Hood Foundation, and the New York Asian Women’s Center where she was Executive Director for eight years. A certified 21/64 trainer in family philanthropy advising—helping families and foundations to make their philanthropic giving more strategic and rewarding—she is the co-founder of Faces of Giving, a not-for-profit philanthropic advising service for families of color.

Dr. Gil is the Founder, President and CEO of Comunilife, Inc. a non-profit organization founded in 1989 that assists New Yorkers in need, including persons living with HIV/AIDS and mental illness. During her distinguished career she served as Health Policy Advisor to the Mayor and Health Administrator of NYC. She is the former Chairperson of the NYC Health + Hospitals System. She held positions within the NYC hospital system as Hospital Executive Director; Network SVP and SVP Mental Hygiene Services.
