Men’s Health Month is a reminder that seeing your doctor is an important part of maintaining overall health.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men. The good news is that prostate cancer is often highly treatable when detected early, which is why regular screenings and conversations with a urologist are so important. Regular visits with a urologist can also help identify and treat other urologic conditions early, including kidney health issues and other common men’s health concerns.

“Too often, men wait until symptoms become serious before seeking care,” states Dr. Andrew Fishman, Associate Chief of Urology and Co-Director of Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. “Routine screenings and conversations with your urologist are important steps in protecting long-term health and improving quality of life.”
