Michelle Soto, MD, MBA, FASAM, Medical Director of Ambulatory Care at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx

We are pleased to congratulate Michelle Soto, MD, MBA, FASAM, on her appointment as the new Medical Director of Ambulatory Care at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx (NCB)! Her leadership and dedication to equitable healthcare will be invaluable to the community. In this role, she will oversee key outpatient services, including pediatric, women’s health, primary care, and medical and surgical specialties, reinforcing the hospital’s dedication to patient-centered care.

Dr. Soto brings over two decades of experience in NYC Health + Hospitals and multidisciplinary practices. She is passionate about ensuring high-quality healthcare is accessible to all.

A graduate of CUNY School of Medicine and SUNY Downstate, Dr. Soto completed her Internal Medicine residency at Jacobi Hospital in 2004. She has since held leadership roles in primary care, behavioral health, and substance use disorder treatment. Most recently, she served as Chief of Ambulatory Care and Health Equity Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health, where she spearheaded quality and access initiatives and helped transition to virtual care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Soto, a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine, is dedicated to improving health literacy and equity. A lifelong New Yorker of Puerto Rican descent, she is deeply committed to serving diverse communities.
