The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
We are currently accepting applications or a full-time Physician Assistant to work in our Emergency Medicine Department.

Responsibilities Include:- Performing history and physical examinations- Ordering diagnostic tests based on assessments- Developing treatment plans, Prescribing drugs and other therapies as needed- Making referrals as necessary- Consulting with supervising medical provider when appropriate- Counseling patients and families regarding care- Reviewing and responding to referrals from within and outside the clinic- Maintaining patient confidentiality - Precept and evaluate physician assistant students rotating through the Emergency Department.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant education program
- Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant
- Current certification issued by the NCCPA
- Cultural sensitivity to a diverse and under-served patient population
- Must have proven ability to work in a team environment
