Nurse Midwife

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) has a Midwife opportunity at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan.  Metropolitan Hospital is a community hospital located in East Harlem and has been certified as a Baby-Friendly hospital by the World Health Organization.  The Staff is comprised of full-time faculty OBGYN Generalists, as well as subspecialists, including Urogynecologists and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeons.  Metropolitan Hospital features a Level III NICU, state of the art Labor and Delivery suites, a dedicated Postpartum pavilion, and a AIUM certified ultrasound unit.  On average, the OBGYN service has 900 live births annually.  The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with New York Medical College.

• Direct clinical care to mothers and babies
• Care for underserved, high-risk patients
• Precept nurse midwifery students and other medical students
• Provide patient and family education related to prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and interconceptional care
• Role model advanced practice professional nursing skills

• American Midwifery Board Certification
• BLS and NRP Certification required
• Successful completion of an approved electronic fetal monitoring course within 2 years
