As an immigrant to this country I wanted to also work with immigrants. It is really important that we provide an excellent quality of medical care because our patients are underrepresented. That’s the best of our civilization.  In history our society will be judged based on how we treat the elderly and the underrepresented.  These represent the majority of the people we provide care for.

As an attending OB/GYN for PAGNY at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi we are exposed to diversity beyond ethnic and religious differences. There is a lot of socioeconomic diversity throughout our patient population. We treat professionals and the unemployed. There is a sense of social justice, since the providers are not here because they have be, they are here because they have a mission to help a diverse population, embrace diversity, and the challenges of working within the city hospital system.

I am proud to be a member of a team so invested in the community. As a PAGNY provider you are known throughout the borough where you provide care. Your patients and colleagues come to know you and bring their friends and family to come and see you. There is no greater honor than taking care of that community and feeling like we are a part of the community.
