PAGNY Dr. Carmen J. Sultana received her BA degree from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in Behavioral Biology/Natural Sciences. She received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, New York, New York. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed a fellowship in Pelvic Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Sultana completed a fellowship in Geriatric Gynecology at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety.
Dr. Sultana has held several faculty positions, her most recent as Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology at Weill-Cornell Medical College, New York, New York. She serves as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prior to joining PAGNY, Dr. Sultana was the Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology at New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.
Dr. Sultana has received many awards and honors and is a member of several professional and scientific societies. She has held numerous university and hospital committee appointments. Dr. Sultana has held several editorial positions and has lectured, by invitation, at national, local and regional conferences. Dr. Sultana has authored or coauthored peer reviewed publications, abstracts, oral presentations and poster presentations. She has also been the author of numerous book chapters and internet media. Dr. Sultana has been the recipient of several grants and awards for team training, educational research and fellowship training.
