I am pleased to inform you that PAGNY Health and Research Foundation is ready to launch its first PAGNY Research Grand Round series on
Thursday June 13, 2019 from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM. This inaugural Research Grand Round will be held at North Central Bronx Hospital.

We have invited Professor Andreas Pfützner, MD, Ph.D. to present:

How to Stop Diabetes Progression
“Blood Glucose Cosmetics” vs. “Pathophysiology-oriented Diabetes Treatment”

This is the first of the monthly Research Grand Round series sponsored by the PAGNY Health and Research Foundation. The objectives of these research grand round series are to provide our physicians and residents exposures to prominent national and international researchers and to create a platform for our physicians to share their innovations across our affiliated facilities and academic institutions throughout the country.

Prof. Andreas Pfützner, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Pfützner is considered one of the foremost Endocrinology researchers in the world.

Prof. Andreas Pfützner is Managing Director of the Pfützner Science & Health Institute,
Diabetes Center & Practice in Mainz, Germany, focusing on insulin and insulin analogues, diabetes technology and medical device development. He is considered one of the foremost Endocrinology researchers and scientists in the world. (Please see https://www.pfuetzner-mainz.com/en/home/ )

He is also Professor of Applied Clinical Research for the University of Applied Sciences in Bingen, Germany and holds positions on the boards of directors of several diabetes-focused companies and non-profit institutions. Prof. Pfützner has performed more than 350 clinical studies as Principal Investigator or Investigator, including over 100 clinical research projects with diabetes-related technologies. He has published more than 750 full papers, abstracts and book articles covering areas including diabetes, endocrinology and drug development, and his research has won numerous awards.

Prof. Pfützner brings knowledge, experience and pharmaceutical expertise as the Head of Clinical Endocrinology Research, Fournier Pharma, Dijon/France, 1993-1994; the Head of Diabetes Clinical Research, Eli Lilly Deutschland, 1994-1998; General Manager Europe and Int. Medical Director, MiniMed Inc., Mainz/Germany, 1998-2000; Professor of Applied Clinical Research, University of Applied Sciences Rheinbach/Germany, 2001-2008

Prof. Pfützner served as Medical Director Biodel Inc. Connecticut/USA, 2004-2007; CEO of ikfe GmbH Mainz/Germany, 1998-2013; and since 2007, Professor of Applied Clinical Research, University of Applied Sciences, Bingen/Germany. Prof. Pfützner has served as CEO PFÜTZNER Science & Health Institute/Diabeteszentrum und Praxis, Mainz/Germany from 2013 through today.
