The PAGNY Board of Directors held its 3rd Annual Retreat on Wednesday, October 21st. The retreat kicked off with a talk from HHC’s President, Dr. Ram Raju, who elaborated on his 20/20 vision for HHC and PAGNY’s partnership with the corporation.
Pamela Mann and Karen Heller also presented. Pamela Mann, Esq., Partner at Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP, spoke about the Non-Profit Revitalization Act (NPRA) and whether it was applicable to PAGNY. Her conclusion is that PAGNY is not bound by the NPRA. To the extent that the provisions reflect not-for-profit entities, however, PAGNY should consider adopting a governance structure that reflects current best practices and are in alignment with the provisions of the NPRA. Karen Heller, Executive Vice President of Health, Economics, Finance, and Outcomes Research at Greater New York Hospital Association discussed competitive forces in the age of managed care, and the impact of the ACA and DSRIP on New Business Opportunities geared for physician groups such as PAGNY.
The retreat was a success and we are looking forward to implementing the lessons learned.
