Last month, the Harlem Hospital Emergency Department held its annual retreat to invigorate morale and establish department goals for the next six months, the next year and the next five years.
All 30-plus members of the department attended the half-day retreat on Sunday, March 8, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
“The purpose of the retreat was to have the staff come together and share the vision for the department,” said Dr. Rajesh Verma, department chair. “The staff now has a clear direction of where they all want to be. They gave their input, we came to a consensus and some really good points came out of the meeting.”
The retreat included an explanation of PAGNY, a presentation on the department’s goals and a presentation about PhyCare, the faculty practice billing company.
After the retreat, the department stayed at the Barclays Center for a Brooklyn Nets – Utah Jazz basketball game, which they watched from a luxury box suite.
