The Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) today announced Donna Thomas as the organization’s first Chief Risk Officer. Donna will create an enterprise risk management system for PAGNY’s clinical and corporate operations.

Donna comes to PAGNY with over 20 years of experience in Risk Management. Over the course of 12 years at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Donna served as the Senior Director for Risk Management, and most recently, was Vice President of their Audit & Compliance Departments as well as the Chief Privacy Officer for the hospital. During her service, she oversaw the Hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program as well as provided basic and complex preventative risk management assessment of processes, procedures, programs as well as other activities.

Donna is Registered Nurse by training, and worked more than ten years of her nursing career in ICUs, Cardiac Catherization Lab and Emergency Medicine, as well as a Legal Nurse Consultant for five years. Donna has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Adelphi University in Garden City, and an MBA in Healthcare from Saint Joseph’s College in Brooklyn. She is also certified in healthcare compliance (CHC).
