Congratulations to Chinyere Anyaogu, MD, MPH, FACOG - Deputy CMO, NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx, who was recently honored by the National Hispanic Health Foundation at their annual gala. The National Health Hispanic Foundation (NHHF) is the philanthropic arm of the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA), a non-profit association representing the interests of 50,000 licensed Hispanic physicians in the United States. Dr. Anyaogu was honored for her leadership and tireless work for the Bronx community, especially during those difficult months during the height of the pandemic when she was one of the first clinicians to note that many of the patients affected by COVID-19 were Black and Hispanic. Dr. Anyaogu began reaching out to community organizations and elected officials to offer her expertise; she worked with them to set-up workshops to educate community residents about the effects of COVID-19 and the importance of getting vaccinated. Congratulations!
