Matthew Klein

Dr. Klein is charged with leading PAGNY’s clinical operations and initiatives as the organization continue to develop as a best-in-class multi-specialty medical group focused on the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Dr. Klein is a clinical and management expert with experience in providing leadership in multiple settings.  After working in private practice in Maryland at the beginning of his career,  Dr. Klein joined North American Partners (NAPA) in Anesthesia in 2001 at Vassar Medical  Center in Poughkeepsie where he helped develop the Cardiac Surgery program locally and at other NAPA facilities. Later, as a NAPA Regional Director he was responsible for business   development, site on-boarding and quality improvement for their New Jersey sites. Dr. Klein   developed the NAPA Service Experience, the first customer service experience program exclusively for the Anesthesia space. Dr. Klein has also served as Chairman of Anesthesiology at Monmouth Medical Center, a member of the RWJ-Barnabas system. In that role he reduced length of stay for surgical patients, increased surgeon and patient satisfaction and initiated collaborations across multiple service lines.

Dr. Klein, a Queens native, received his undergraduate degree from SUNY-Binghamton and a doctor of medicine degree from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He did his post-graduate training at George Washington University Hospital in Anesthesiology with a specialty focus in cardiac anesthesia.
