Responsibilities
The NICU Nurse Practitioner provides primary care to neonates including premature babies who need specific care due to a diverse range of disorders and abnormalities.
- Adheres and conforms to all hospital and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Taking care of the newborn in incubators.
- Responsible for giving acute medical care to these infants especially in the absence of the doctor
- Conducting lumbar punctures.
- Insertion of intravenous lines securely.
- Providing guidance and information to members of the neonatal team.
- Provides parents on the appropriate methods via which they can care for newborn babies.
- Counseling doctors and patients.
- Provides round the clock supervision and care to infants.
- All other duties as required by the department.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree Preferred
- NCLEX-RN
- Neonatal Nurse Practitioner License
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination required prior to hire
