Overview

The Site HR Generalist, under the direction of the Senior HR Operations Manager is responsible for providing general support to the HR Department, and Payroll.  In collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Generalist’s responsibilities include onboarding of new hires through effective communication with recruiting specialists and hiring managers, consistent logging and tracking of applicable human resources forms, and constant updating of employee records in HRIS and other systems. The HR Generalist is also immediately responsible for fielding all employee concerns as an initial point of contact and is expected to serve as an outward facing part of the HR Department to departmental leadership throughout the site. In some cases, the HR Generalist will refer to the correct subject matter expert in Corporate Human Resources.

 

This will be an on-site position at South Brooklyn Health in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of all location-based HR processes, including recruitment and onboarding, as well as the coordination and tracking of any special HR projects for the site.

 

Tracks and onboards all new hires ensuring all paperwork is filled out by employees in a timely manner. Coordinates and completes all internal onboarding processes and ensures all pre-hire processes such as physicals, credentialing, orientations, and trainings are completed in a timely manner to expedite the hiring process.

               

Works with various stakeholders to assist in monitoring recruitment needs for the health care setting, to track openings, and to coordinate between department managers and recruitment to maintain optimal staffing levels.

 

Initiates, processes, reviews, and/or maintains all HRIS transaction and change requests ensuring accuracy and obtains managerial approval, if necessary, to ensure timely transmission to corporate HR for processing in the HRIS. Updates employee records to ensure education, licenses, certifications, and other credentials as required by governing agencies.

 

Serves as an HR point of contact for internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and governing/accrediting agencies (e.g. Joint Commission, CMS, AHA, etc.). Works closely with Department Coordinators and H + H staff during agency audits.

 

May be responsible for logging and ensuring that the proper approval of action forms is attained for new hires, salary adjustments, and title changes. Follows up with the appropriate personnel or approvers on the PAGNY or the H + H side.

 

May perform other duties, as assigned.

                                                                                   

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.

High attention to detail. Ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines.

Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment.

Must be able to prioritize a variety of time sensitive tasks. Consistently display the highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion.

Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
